iPod Classic

Got this today – looks immense! I will be able to carry around every tune, video, podcast and photo I have. The size is amazing. My first iPod was 60gb, and I thought that was huge. One of the main reasons for upgrading has to be the video ability and new user interface – both of which are excellent.

This is a total indulgance mind you, and I did’t REALLY need it. I had a good play with the iPhone in the Apple Store last night. It is really smart, but I was almost a little bit disapointed. It is a bit bigger and thicker than I thought, and the OS was a tad sluggish. I reckon I would love one, but may be a little disapointed. It is hard for anything to live up to such hype.

I think I am glad I managed to control myself and wait until the later versions. V2 will be out in January, and they are already working on version 4. Also out in Jan is expected an Apple sub-notebook – their first since my 12″ PowerBook stopped production.

That is something I am sure I am going to be interested in. Although, with classic timing, I just bought a 2nd hand white MacBook on eBay and have since upgraded the memory to 2gb and hard drive to 250gb – it is a flying machine. Never mind, something that spec should have good resale value – esp once I upgrade it to Leapord/Vista/Office 2007 & Office for Mac 2008! Niiiiiice!
